Ben Vergese's Green and Pleasant Lands takes an adventous, antichronological journey through the history of UK Jazz.

Consider the cover art to be a good expression of the imagined pastures that Ben hears laid out in all directions and across all frontiers in these wonderful works. From the earthy tones of the Mike Westbrook Orchestra's "Santarcangelo" to the lofty blue skies of Chris Bowden's epic "Mothers and daughters now mothers", Mr Vergese has truly carved a splendid vista from these elements. Feel the funk of Neil Ardley's Fair Mirage thundering in the horizon, whilst the shepard's delight holds bright in the promise of tomorrow's morning as told by Aaron Jerome, whilst the wheel within the wheel keeps turning.

Massive thanks to Ben for providing this mix, which was recorded at the Beatcave as a shhhhh exclusive. What more could we expect from the cheery scribe of
fly.co.uk who's a regular face at all the jazziest jams in town and never misses a beat. Keep on keeping on Mr Vergese, the hat is doffed.
